These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Uzu mobile application (the "App") and the website uzuapp.com (the "Website"), operated by Uzu ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Eligibility and Age

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your jurisdiction) to use Uzu. If you are under 18, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13; see our Privacy Policy.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your authentication credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You may delete your account at any time from the App's settings, which deletes your profile and cloud data as described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Acceptable Use and User-Generated Content (UGC)

Uzu includes social features where you publish content visible to other users, including your profile photo, display name, and custom personas (including their names, descriptions, and behavior prompts) offered in the persona marketplace. You retain ownership of the content you create; you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it for the sole purpose of operating the App's features.

When creating or publishing content, you agree NOT to:

  • Post content that is obscene, sexually explicit, or depicts violence, self-harm, or cruelty;
  • Post content that is hateful, discriminatory, or harassing toward any person or group, including based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender identity, or sexual orientation;
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation;
  • Post another person's private information (e.g. phone numbers, addresses) without consent;
  • Promote illegal activities, terrorism, or violent extremism;
  • Upload malware or attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the App or its backend;
  • Use the service to generate content that violates any applicable law.

4. Content Moderation, Reporting, and Blocking

We apply automated filtering to published content (names, persona descriptions) and review reports submitted through the App. You can help keep Uzu safe:

  • Report: long-press a user's profile photo on their public profile, or open the "…" menu on a marketplace persona, and choose Report to flag objectionable content to our moderation team.
  • Block: from the same menu you can block a user or a persona. Blocking hides the other party from you (and you from them) across the League, marketplace, and public profiles.

We aim to review reports promptly and may take action that includes removing content, unpublishing a persona, resetting a profile photo or display name, or suspending accounts that repeatedly violate these Terms. We may also remove content that comes to our attention through automated filters without a user report. Prohibited-content categories follow the standards published by the Apple App Store and Google Play.

5. Virtual Credits and Purchases

The App includes a virtual economy with G-Credits and DAG-Credits ("Credits"). Credits are a limited, non-transferable license to access features, have no monetary value, are not currency, and may not be sold, exchanged, or cashed out. Purchases are processed by Google Play and the Apple App Store and are additionally governed by their terms. Some features allow earning Credits by watching advertisements, subject to availability. We may adjust the economy (prices, rewards, caps) to maintain service integrity and prevent abuse.

6. Persona Marketplace

You may publish custom personas for other users, optionally at a price in Credits. Publishing a persona means you confirm it complies with Section 3. You may update or unpublish your persona at any time; buyers keep access to the version they purchased (snapshots), and their copies are not affected by your later edits. We may unpublish any persona that violates these Terms, without refund of publishing fees when the violation is intentional or repeated.

7. AI Output Disclaimer

Uzu provides AI-generated content ("outputs"). Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or offensive, and do not constitute professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or otherwise). You are responsible for evaluating and deciding how to use outputs. Do not rely on outputs as a sole source for important decisions.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, its design, code, brand assets, and official (non-user) personas are owned by Uzu and its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from our software except as expressly permitted by these Terms.

9. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for us or other users, or fail to pay amounts due. You may stop using the App at any time; deleting your account removes your cloud profile and personal data as described in the Privacy Policy, while content required for legitimate purposes (such as fraud-prevention or legal obligations) may be retained in anonymized form.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Uzu shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim or the minimum required by applicable law.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the App evolves. Material changes will be surfaced in the App or by other reasonable notice. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
